The rather colonial-looking Legh Arms is one of the best pubs in the Sale area, and is situated in Sale Moor. Being of the Joseph Holts chain, the Legh Arms sells quality beers sold in pint bottles such as Thunder Holt (5% alcohol), Humdinger (4%, tastes like Dundee’s Honey Brown from Rochester, NY), and my favourite being Sixex (the strongest being 6% alcohol). These beers are very reasonably priced, and currently cost no more than £2.10 for a pint bottle (Sixex) with fairly frequent offers. The pub itself boasts a bowling green at the rear, and is rather reminiscent of Victorian Australia-albeit with a couple of recent large wooden gazeboes; most bowling games are played in the evening but you get a free match as a spectator with every drink purchased.

In addition to the Victorian ambience and the bowling, at the Legh Arms you can go for a night's boozing session for just £5.00-that is three pint bottles of Sixex or Thunderholt for a fiver-aint that great!!!

Spent an afternoon at this venue. I found all staff to be very friendly the atmosphere was great and it was a very relaxing day. I would definately visit again with family or friends.

Nice colonial-style pub just outside Sale whith a lovely facade. Big brand drinks can be dear but the Joseph Holts Beers are fabulous and many are strong and of value for money. Personally I would recommend to you the Holts Sixex (6% alc) but there are slightly weaker beers which are equally good. During the summer period why not watch the bowling matches in action on the green behind.

Jeremy Bramwell Very nice fillet of beef at the Legh Arms, Prestbury. Full of old colonels, 80's radio DJ's and orange faced divorcees, Sybil Fawlty serving
Matt Walmsley @Adventurebaby don't forget to have a play in the Wacky Warehouse ( if it still exists at the Legh Arms)
